Experience Flowers in a Virtual Reality Gardenscape
We got inspired whilst making the pop-up book and our recent game "Titleless Flower Game", and started to wonder how we could continue the project.A concept we thought would be great, is a collaboration between artists.
The project would be a Virtual Gallery available on the Meta Quest devices, where we'd map the size of the exhibition space into virtual reality, and place flowers from each participating artist like it were a gallery.The proposed space would feature two models of each plant: a large-scale model and a to-scale version for comparison. Accompanying the models, we would include informative text highlighting the artist or artists responsible for each piece. Additionally, the text would detail the plant's name in the language of flowers, as well as the reason for its selection. For instance, the chosen plant may hold a personal significance for the artist, inspiring them in the creation of a past art piece.As proof of concept for this project, which is still ongoing, we have modeled 3 extra assets and started testing them out in a simplistic VR environment.

Studies show that inhabiting spaces with plant life improves mood and can reduce anxiety and levels of stress.
Certain species of plants appear in folk tales and religious stories, and their meanings are burnt into our societal memory.But what is less known is what meaning they carry in their specific language.We created “Titleless Flower Game” during Finnish Game Jam 2023, where the theme was “roots”. The game aims to introduce the flower language meaning of 6 plants in a light-hearted yet dark environment.
